"Since installing the power supply a little over 2 months ago I can say that I
couldn’t be more happy with this power supply. It has worked perfectly,
consistently and without so much as a hiccup the entire time."

And we're off to a fantastic start, as the UCP hands in some exceptionally stable numbers thanks to its independently regulated VRM design. The 3.3V and 5V readings barely move at all, and even the 12V doesn't get up and wander away too far. This is very impressive. In fact, I think these results are better than I've seen in a while. Coolermaster targets the UCP series at those of us who want exceptional performance at uncompromising quality. While voltage regulation and efficiency are indeed up to this challenge, the ripple suppression and the high price conspire to throw water on the flames of my excitement. I find the UCP 700W to be a very good, but not great unit. If they can lower the boom on the 12V ripple, things will improve dramatically for this unit.

"When I had [HAF 932] sitting on the table you couldn’t help but admire how bad
ass looking it was and that was an empty case. The flat black finish on the case
just gives it that cool look that you normally don’t see in a lot of computer
cases."
"[The UCP 700W] is a pretty nice power supply I like the big 120 mm fan on the bottom of it
and I’m sure that will keep the noise down."

Marketing the UCP-700 as the Ultimate 700 Watt power supply is a bold claim. I am happy to say the power supply was rock solid during testing with only a very slight change in voltage during stress testing. These days I tent to favor modular power supplies but for many builds the extra cost is not a good tradeoff for a modular design. The unique finish looks pretty sharp and gives the appearance of a coating more durable than the glossy paints so common in high end power supplies today. Love it or hate it, it definitely stands out in a windowed install. During testing the UCP-700 was slightly louder than our previous 1000W unit with exhaust temperatures stayed at around 95 Degrees F but never a distraction while working on the PC.

4.5 out of 5

Overall, the UCP 700 is a very capable power supply that provides a very solid performance across all voltage rails. It has a nice appearance and ample cooling without a lot of noise. All in all, a very worthy consideration for those looking for a good mid-range PSU.
