"With the Cooler Master UCP-1100w PSU, you get what you pay for, an
upper-midrange unit that can do exactly what it is advertized to do; deliver
clean power all the way up to 1100w. The unit efficiency is excellent. Coupled
with a reliable Adda fan and good components, this power supply is likely to
last for years. "

"After removing the cover i was quite surprised to
once more see how clean the entire configuration is. Cooler Master left plenty
of clear space to create the best possible airflow in the device......The UCP 1100W is the flagship power supply offering from Cooler
Master and one of the best power supplies on the market, of that wattage output
of course. With the UCP technology Cooler Master managed to create an
innovative power supply with six different circuit safety protections which are
certain to protect your system by virtually any miss happenings."

The UCP 1100W is the flagship power supply offering from Cooler Master,
but don't let that fool you. It is an innovative power supply
introducing several new features and combining several more all within
a single power supply. It has the highest efficiency standards
available in a consumer PSU, the most PCIe connectors currently
available in a PSU (a total of nine), and finally six different circuit
safety protections that no other power supply we have found seems to be
able to offer.

When simulating a possible real world scenario, no matter what I did, or how many applications I ran there was hardly any fluctuation when using the UCP 1100. The power provided is stable and reliable from my testing over the last couple weeks. I’ve never had a crash while running my system well overclocked with the UCP 1100 installed, even when using my overclocked Q6600. There are a few hiccups I found with this unit however. Only giving the user 5 Molex connections was a complaint I had, also the amount of wires was intimidating. It took me a bit to sort through them all to figure out what everything was.

The PSU comes with a hefty price tag, but for this amount of wattage it is to be expected. The 5 year warrantee is very generous and isn’t something you see very much with computer components, and the reason Cooler Master are so confident and are backing it that long is because it has a rated MTBF (average time until it breaks) of over 11 years of 24/7 use, so the PSU should last for a long, long time; and in that sense could be considered a good investment. The power supply feels substantially built and it is a high (88%) efficiency unit so you are getting your moneys worth.

With this testing
method the UCP 1100 showed itself to be a very nice unit, handling the power
hungry Dual Xeon Quad Core system without breaking a sweat. The only down side to the UCP 1100 was the lack of
modular cabling. This may put more than a few enthusiast off, yes the UCP
performs amazingly but when faced with dealing with a mass of unused cables
some may skip over the UCP for less efficient and powerful models. This is a
shame as the UCP 1100 is one of the best PSUs I have ever hooked up to my V8. If you are looking for something to feed the
power appetite of your own voracious system the CoolerMaster UCP 1100 should be
at the top of your menu.
