 Introduction

GeminII S524 features a larger Heat sink for improved cooling performance, and increased memory module clearance to support high end memory modules featuring large Heat sinks of their own. It comes equipped with a modular 120mm fan with an ideal noise performance ratio throughout its supported range of rpm. It can be upgraded to a 140mm fan to further boost its cooling performance or opt for a super low noise, low rpm fan.

 Features
  • Balance cooling between CPU and components on the motherboard.

  • Higher ground clearance for better memory module compatibility.

  • Larger heatsink for better performance.

  • 12cm PWM fan provides versatile performance for full loading efficiency and for quiet idling.

  • Compatible with 14cm fans (optional).

"Cooler Master's GeminII S524 has made its point and offers quite a bit for the $40 asking price and for those not on the quest for extreme cooling solutions."

"Overall, the Gemin II S524 CPU Cooler was an easy to install, easy to work with and a decent cooling product. It not only cools the CPU, but also the motherboard and components connected to it. The high clearance from the motherboard makes it ideal for people with high heat spreaders on their RAM, or even other components which may cause a clearance issue with other coolers."

"The performance of this cooler is excellent, considering its design and intended use. The stock Intel cooler isn't even in the same class, and while the Intel DBX-B cooler beats it, it's only by a narrow margin and at a sonic cost. Also, the DBX-B isn't designed for the use that the S524 is. The GeminII's included PWM fan is almost silent except under high load conditions.

If you're looking for a cooler for a small form factor machine, the Cooler Master GeminII S524 deserves your consideration. At an MSRP of $39.99, it's a good value. "

"The Cooler Master GeminII S524 is a great cooler that has more than enough cooling potential for stock builds that want to be silent. It also has excellent cooling potential for users who want to push their hardware as far as they can; the 4.0Ghz San Ace test is a good example of this. The only thing we would have liked to see with the S524 us a simpler install method. "

"The Cooler Master Gemin II S524 CPU Cooler with 120mm PWM Fan and ergonomic design is an outstanding product, maintaining a stable temperature all throughout idle and loaded configurations. It also has an additional option to upgrade this PWM Fan to a 140mm replacement for additional temperature control for those lovely memory sticks which is a smart idea during extreme loads for gaming and multitasking.  Cooler Master also provided a nice additional gift, a new supply of thermal paste which looks like silver compound!"

"The GeminII S524 surpassed my expectations in cooling.  It beat the Noctua in every test and the single fan kept the noise down well.  The added benefit of more airflow across the memory and mainboard in general is a good sell as well.  Once the cooler was installed in my rig, it actually looks pretty good.  It grew on me the longer I used it.  With an MSRP of $39.99 this is a very reasonably priced cooler."

"Top cooling performance isn't the hallmark of this cooler, but it get the job done nicely with low noise levels. There isn't any sort of knockout punch here today but the GeminII S524 is a solid all-around cooler that comes with an attractive price, much lower than most other premium top-down coolers on the market. Ninjalane.com: Silent 4 of 5

    ninjalane.com : August 2011

"Overall performance was very good and provided a 30 degree temperature drop over the OEM cooler at the same speed.   We do feel that the heatsink is a little underpowered due to the silent running fan but swapping the stock 120mm fan with a more powerful 140mm fan can increase overall performance while providing the same noise footprint."

"The "S-blade" fan is very quiet, the fan quality appears to be good and the new installation system is pretty good also.  Overall, the GeminII S524 is a solid cooler in any light, and has bested any of the previous top-flow coolers we've previously tested."

"We have the massive, heat gulping Hyper 612 PWM, and then we have the small, conservative, and thoughtful GeminII S524. Both are easy to install and offer great performance for each application. For the Hyper 612 PWM at a price of $49.99 it is definitely a great alternative to spending upwards of $80 and $90 on similarly performing coolers. The GeminII S524 price has not been listed yet, but at my estimated price of between $40 and $50 it is also a great choice for someone with a small, low-clearance case!"

"In terms of performance, the Cooler Master GeminII S542 performed very well under stock conditions, producing numbers which looked very much similar to the performance that I saw with more expensive and larger Cooler Master coolers like the V6 and V6GT that I have seen. The surrounding system components were also kept quite cool, including the motherboard and the northbridge which usually saw higher numbers under load."
