"The CM Storm Quickfire Rapid is a humble, budget-priced mechanical keyboard that offers the essentials at a budget price (around $75). It does its job well."

"The CM Storm Quick Fire keyboard is a good first mechanical keyboard for people coming off of membrane or hybrid keyboards. Keyboard performs very well, and the compact size is a plus to some, but maybe too much on the teeny weeny side for others. Regardless though the Quick Fire is a solid gaming keyboard for people new to mechanical key based boards. We said that a few times already haven’t we? It’s gotta be true then right?"

"As we have mentioned before the Coolermaster ‘Storm’ Quick Fire keyboard is a rather solid piece of kit. The keys are obviously designed to take a great deal of abuse and for typing our test shows that a Mechanical keyboard is light-years ahead than the soft touch type in terms of typing, especially if a consumer is prone to typos. For gaming we tested (though it is not described in our testing section) it under games such as Skyrim in ‘First Person’ Mode. During gaming sessions the keyboard can easily take multiple directional inputs at the same time and gaming performance is noticeable increased."

"Overall, typing and gaming with the CM Storm Quick Fire Rapid are equally amazing. The feel of the keys while typing on them, the detachable power cable, rubberized coating on the body of the keyboard, it all comes together to make an extremely enjoyable product. I would recommend using the included USB to PS/2 adapter to unlock the full capabilities of the CM Storm Quick Fire Rapid."

"With extra multimedia keys, Windows key disable option, a removable braided USB cable and rubber body coating, the CM Storm QuickFire Rapid keyboard cannot exactly be classified as a "No Frills" keyboard. It is deceptively simple but remarkably effective at what it was designed for. Gamers who put their keyboard through its paces with heavy use but also spend a lot of productivity hours typing will enjoy the CM Storm QuickFire Rapid keyboard as it manages to balance and excel at both tasks at a price that is relatively affordable compared to other mechanical keyboards currently available."

"The Cooler Master CM Storm QuickFire Rapid Mechanical Keyboard is very nice for what it does. You get a very stable and solid product which can be packed up and taken with you. Once you get used to the feel of the keys (after using short throw keyboards it is a difference) you will quickly find that the mechanical feel of the keys do seem to help your game. "

"For around $79.99, the Quickfire Rapid is fairly inexpensive when it comes to mechanical keyboards. Though it does not offer some of the bells and whistles of other keyboards, it is a solid piece of hardware. It is a joy to game on as well as to type with. I love the fact that it is shorter than average keyboard. Without the numpad it takes up less desk real estate and gives you a more natural gaming position. In my opinion, Cherry Mx Blues are the cream of the crop. If you don’t need extra macro or back-lit keys, the Quickfire is really where it is at."

"After spending some quality time with the QuickFire, I can confidently say that Cooler Master has broken into the top with their first gaming keyboard. It may lack a lot of the bells and whistles of its competitors, such as multicolored lights, programmable keys, LCD screens, and the likes. But what it lacks in features, it makes up for in pure performance. I have never used a keyboard with such response and tactile feel."

"All that being said, we liked this keyboard overall. If you’re on the market for a no BS keyboard that’s made to game or a plank you can pack in the bag yet still have plenty of room for some Cocaine, then this keyboard might just be for you."

"Cooler Master did something different with the Quickfire Rapid, they put together a keyboard that is unlike almost anything on the market (other the Filco that it’s based on) at a price point that is cheaper than most of the competition. It’s not for everyone obviously but if you are looking to save a little table space or you travel this is a perfect keyboard for you. I pack this one up with my gaming laptop anytime I am going anywhere and absolutely love it!"

"I'm currently a happy user of the CM Storm Sentinel Advance mouse and Sirus headset so when I heard that a keyboard was being launched I was excited to say the least. Thankfully I haven't been disappointed. The QuickFire Rapid is a great first offering in a market segment that can be won or lost on even the most minute details."

"Overall, the Quick Fire Rapid is rock solid in build and performance, and really breaks ground for mechanical keyboards in a price segment which is more aligned with other gaming keyboards (MSRP $80), and not at a steep premium we've grown used to with mechanical keyboards."

"With its $79.99 MSRP it is relatively inexpensive and offers excellent tactile response along with sturdy construction. While it forgoes the multitude of features that other gaming keyboards offer, it shines when it comes to the most important aspect – performance while gaming. MMORPG and RTS players may want a keyboard with more macro recording / management features, but FPS gamers will be more than happy using this keyboard for fragging their opponents."

" I like the QuickFire. I like that the lack of a numpad allows for a more ergonomic mouse position. I like the key feel, which is good when gaming and great everywhere else (and you can buy a different version of the QuickFire if you’d like that statement reversed). I also like the simple but robust build quality. There’s no learning curve. You can plug it in and game with it immediately."

"This is my first experience with a mechanical keyboard besides simply pressing the keys on some at the local electronic store. So what I did after taking the photos of the QuickFire Rapid was to jump into a game of CoD: MW3. And I am here to tell you it was a delight to play around with this keyboard.

The clicking sound of the keys did not bother me one bit. The pressing of the keys was smooth and took very little effort. I don’t know if it was a figment of my imagination but on maps that I am not a fan of in the game due to my sucking at them, I was all of a sudden much better. My kills were up and I was able to execute more quickly when it came time to use my Streak kills in the game."
