"Excellent audio reproduction in games, movies and music, all wrapped in a stylish package at an attractive price, make Cooler Master's CM Storm Ceres-400 headset a hard offering to beat."

      » Details Recommended Silver : January 2013

"First this headset is well designed and has a very clean and nice look to it while still being very light in weight as compared to most headsets. It also has a nice sturdier than normal cord with the inline control unit that in my opinion should be on every headset."

"The Ceres-400 provides good comfort and all the features you’d expect for a headset in its price range."

      » Details Approved : December 2012

"The audio quality of the Ceres 400 was really surprising to me. I expected the unit to lack much of the sound spectrum when it comes to music. The very highs were a slight problem for the Ceres but from the mids and down to the lows we enjoyed listening to music like rap, some rock and some old school R-n-B. I can't speak much for other genres but these three were well reproduced. Changing over to gaming we played a few hours of CoD: MW3, Metro 2033 and Diablo 3. The sound effects were well represented actually better than the 2.1 channel speaker I currently use. I especially loved the sounds while playing Metro 2033 as I could hear the ‘dark ones’ coming a mile away."

"What if there was a way to have quality sound, be comfortable on the ears, and be a multipurpose device? The Coolermaster (CM Storm) Ceres 400 is a gaming headset that provides such features, and we’ll be taking a look further into the headset to see how well it performs."

"The CM Storm Ceres-400 just feels solid and should provide you with several years of enjoyment. When adjusting the headband, which should easily fit anyone's head, you can feel the quality of the design as it clicks into place. The same goes for the microphone boom when it is being adjusted; it doesn't freely glide around. It has what I would describe as a mechanical feel to it. Again, this is a quality design."

      » Details : October 2012

"The CM Storm series continues to impress me.  The Ceres 400 Ultra-Portable Gaming Headset is a solid entry level gaming headset.  The quality of the fit and finish match the high standards we have come to expect from the CM Storm line.  Sound quality is more dependent on the source hardware but given the right source the Ceres performs like a champ.

A good gaming headset is a must and the Ceres 400 gets the job done at a price point that is honestly hard to beat. I would always recommend a good surround sound unit but if portability and budget are major factors, the Ceres 400 Ultra-Portable Gaming Headset is right on the money."

      » Details : October 2012

"Overall a strong and well built headset that is impossibly light on the head, but just falls a little short in some areas of sound quality.  But is good overall value for money, for those in the sub $100 market."

» Details Bronze Awesome Award : October 2012

"For a measly price tag of just $49.99, the Ceres-400 is truly a gaming headset aimed at gamers with budgets below sea level. For those looking for a solid gaming headset, the Ceres-400 is definitely bang for the buck"

Alienbabeltech: Great Value : October 2012

"As it stands, the CM Storm 400 Ceres is a budget-friendly headset with a 2 year warranty, great sound, and is very comfortable to use. While it lacks the higher quality drivers, it is worth considering. The Ceres is ultra-light and CM did hit portability with the headset, just not in every situation. ABT recommends this headset fully, and after using this entry-level product from the CM Storm line we can only imagine how good the top of the line headset may be."

HardwareSecrets: Golden Award : October 2012

"With a 40 mm driver, the headset features a strong bass. When we played Battlefield’s newest expansion, Armored Fury, the focus on tank warfare, the advance of the armored units, and the shooting of heavy caliber projectiles made our ears ring. Other sound effects and dialogue sounded crisp."

      » Details Value Award : October 2012

"Overall the CM Storm Ceres-400 is an awesome entry-level headset. Its $49.99 retail price puts it in the lower price range of gaming headsets, but its features and specifications make you think it came from the upper midrange level."

      » Details : October 2012

"There is no shortage of gaming-focused headsets in the market today, with 5.1 / 7.1 surround sound, hidden mics, detachable mics and the like as notable features."

      » Details Editors Choice 2012 : September 2012

“For those looking for a solid gaming headset with a Mic check out the latest Ceres 400 Headphones from Cooler Master.”

      » Details Approved : September 2012

"When it comes to music, you expect something that is very light to have poor sound quality. Years of experience teach you that good quality requires hefty drivers. Yet, here I find myself listening to a headset that totally sets that notion on its head. Was I proven wrong? Yes. Just because it is light does not mean that it is incapable. Sometimes, it feels good to be proven wrong. This is one of those times."

      » Details Editors Choice : August 2012

"Overall, CM Storm’s gaming headset line provides a decent spectrum of choice for all kinds of gaming enthusiasts, from competitive e-athletes to casual weekend LAN partiers.  The CM Storm Sirus 5.1 is head and shoulders above the rest, not just in features and performance but in price as well.  It is extremely comfortable to wear and I could say with confidence that it is the most comfortable headset I have ever used. The comfortable fit alone makes it worth half the price.  The CM Storm Sonuz also provides excellent audio quality even without the software enhancements and conveniences of the Sirus 5.1.  Lastly, the latest addition to the CM Storm family: the CM Storm Ceres 400 lacks the excellent build quality and premium aesthetics of the Sirus and Sonuz headsets but takes a no-frills approach and provides a well-rounded alternative to essential gaming audio needs."

      Modders-inc - Must Have : August 2012

"Comfort is surprisingly amazing with the headset and is one of the biggest factors for me in a headset. I game for hours on end and I want a headset that I font mind wearing for hours. Sounds both inbound and out was great. As stated before I would like to see this headset made slightly more portable maybe by adding the ability to fold the headset based on the marketing approach being taken. Overall value I consider to be very high on the Cooler Master Ceres 400 headset, I cannot think of many other headsets on the market that will be able to compete at this price point."

      » Details Great Value : August 2012

"To sum things up, we feel that this headset is a great value priced at $50. Although this is not the high-end audiophile headset you might be searching for, the performance for value earns high marks. The CoolerMaster CM Storm Ceres-400 gets our Great Value Approval."

      » Details : August 2012

"The Ceres 400 is priced at $49.99, which is certainly par for the course for what they offer against the competition.  The other offerings in the range are the relatively new and unproven Sharkoon headsets and some of Turtle Beaches console-centric headsets which, frankly, don't put up a great performance for PC usage.  The Ceres 400 doesn't blow the others out of the water at $50, but it's certainly fairly-priced and attainable for those looking for an entry-level headset."
