The CM Storm Recon is a high quality gaming mouse with a durable super grip coated ambidextrous body. It’s based on the latest Avago 3090 optical sensor with 800 to 4000 DPI resolution, and is the first optical mouse with Lift-Off-Distance adjustment. The Mousewheel backlight color and all buttons can be programmed, allowing users to create and store up to 5 profiles and 36 macros on the mouse itself.

Max Customization

Recon features 3 individual multi-color LED zones, the Mousewheel, DPI Buttons and CM Storm Logo. The brightness and color of each zone can be fine tuned, or simply disabled.
  Rubberized Grip

To improve the grip and prevent your fingers from sliding and slipping, the entire mouse body is coated in a thin layer of rubber. An added bonus is a super smooth comfy feel and look, guaranteeing approving nods by whoever lays eyes on it.
On-The-Fly tuning

Quickly switch between different USB polling speeds, LOD levels and sensor DPI settings without leaving the virtual Battlefield or being distracting and catching a bullet.
  Precise Tracking

Thanks to the best Optical Sensor on the Market (Avago 3090) The CM Storm Recon tracks movements with the highest optical sensitivity on the market. Users can fine tune the sensitivity and define up to 4 DPI Levels for each Profile.

"If you want an awesome gaming mouse that's customizable and won't break the bank be sure to check out the CM Storm Recon gaming mouse!"

      » Details : February 2013

"The CM Storm Recon is a great mouse, and if you love to play with your left or your right, or if your one of the lucky few who can play with either hand then this mouse is for you. It’s also great fun to try and play left handed, you never know you might actually win!"

      OCC: Silver : December 2012

"Overall I really enjoyed this CM Storm Recon Mouse roundup with the Speed-RXL and Skorpion additions. The Recon mouse was pretty neat in the sense that there were so many customizable options between coloring and actual functioning specifications."

      » Details : December 2012

"This is one the best mice a gamer can own for a price well below $50. The Recon makes use of the Avag 3090 Optical sensor. This is hands-down the best optical sensor in the game to-date. Expext incredible accuracy rivaling many higher priced laser mice."

"This thing has four DPI settings, 800, 1600, 3200, and 4000, each color coated with LED lights as unlit, red, green, and blue respectively; the mouse wheel, DPI buttons, and logo all change color according to the predetermined settings. But don’t let that stop you from creating your own combination. You can create up to five profiles and thirty-six macros to completely personalize your mouse for your gaming needs, and each zone for the lights can be tweaked or simply disabled with your personalize profiles. It moves flawlessly and combined with the fact that you can change your DPI whenever you want, you’ll never find yourself lagging or going too fast, and it stays where you put it. It is designed with left and right mouse buttons, two by your thumb and two by your pinky/ring finger so there’s plenty of choices to bind keys to for easy access. "

"Ultimately, I recommend both of these products. It is clear that Cooler Master is targeting every type of gamer while releasing more of the niche products to complete the Storm lineup. Having yearned for quality gaming peripherals without breaking the bank, I and many others are happy to see Cooler Master releasing bolder products. Instead of treading little-by-little into unexplored waters, Cooler Master has literally released a storm, and there is no sign of it slowing down until every gamer is satisfied."

      » Details Editors Choice : November 2012

"The most enticing feature of the CM Storm Recon however is the price.  With an MSRP of just $39.99, the CM Storm Recon packs plenty of enthusiast-class features and excellent tracking performance that rivals many input devices that cost twice as much.  It is not often that you find fully customizable RGB LED on a $39.99 gaming mouse but the CM Storm Recon manages to have this extra feature.  It may not be a feature that will help gamers win more matches but it is certainly a welcome addition to the already attractive rubberized matte black/gray CM Storm Recon.  "

» Details Editors Choice Gold : November 2012

"Overall, the CM Storm Recon Optical mouse with its new Avago sensor performed well under all tests. It tracked well on every surface - even when being lifted off a surface.  The software can store up to five profiles on the mouse that can be changed on the fly along with the ability to create macros and much more.  If you are in the market for a new mouse, the Recon Optical mouse is a great value and definitely deserves consideration."

» Details Best Value Award : November 2012

"The Recon comes with a rich feature set, and its driver allows you to tweak pretty much anything. The contrast of the textured gunmetal grey surfaces on the sides and surrounding the DPI buttons against the matte finish of the black rubberized coating is not only attractive, but both offer great traction against your hand as to not lose control of the Recon."

      » Details Silver Tachometer : November 2012

"The value out of both of these products is exceptional. Recon retails for $39.99 and Skorpion retails for $19.99. This is a very low price for a gaming mouse/accessory, and kudos to CM Storm for making a budget-priced gaming mouse. "

      » Details 4 out of 5 : November 2012

"While I spent a good deal of time picking nits with some of its features, the Storm Recon is a far cry better than other gaming mice in its price range ($39.99).  It is light, has a comfortable grip, and if you don’t mind disabling the mirrored buttons then it will serve you well.  And it looks cool as hell."

      » Details Highly Recommended : November 2012

"It's not easy to garner attention in the crowded gaming peripheral market. But from both an objective and subjective viewpoint, the Recon stands out as a solid performer on all fronts. It is comfortable to use for people with medium and large-sized hands, will work for either left or right-handers and has plenty of customization and profile options to tailor to your specific needs. In all other aspects – ergonomics, tracking, sensor precision and LED lighting – it makes no concessions to competitors.

From a value perspective, the under-$50 price point of the Recon is a welcome change in a sea of mice priced north of $50. In terms of similarly priced gaming mice on the market today, the only feature that is lacking is an adjustable weight system. If you don't need adjustable weighting, the Recon is a worthy gaming peripheral that I can confidently recommend to any gamer."

      » Details : October 2012

"At $40, the CMSTORM Recon is a fairly inexpensive mouse compared to other gaming mice especially considering what it brings to the table. With a range of 800 to 4000DPI, the CMSTORM Recon can make you deadly accurate as an in-game sniper, or allow you to easily turn and spray bullets by just moving the mouse a fraction of an inch. The mouse was extremely comfortable, and the ability to change its colors gave it a rather pleasing aesthetic appearance.

The Skorpion mouse bungee and the Speed RXL mouse pad, while not necessary in order to use the CMSTORM Recon, made for very nice accessories. The giant mouse pad created a perfect gaming surface and believe it or not, I actually found the mouse bungee to be pretty useful. Mice cords can get in your way depending on how your work area, and the bungee serves to allieviate any such issue. In the end I would definitely recommend all three CMSTORM mouse products for gamers looking to upgrade their arsenal of gaming peripherals!"

» Details Bang for Buck Award : October 2012

"The CM Storm Recon does so many things right that it’s hard to really find a fault in this mid-range gem. In fact of all the mice I have ever tested, this one ranks up among the best for comfort and build quality, which is saying a lot. "

» Details Must Have Editors Choice : October 2012

"CM Storm's Recon with the Avago 3090 optical sensor truly gives you comfort, fell, tracking and accuracy, software, and the ability to endlessly create Macros and profiles all for $40.  Why would you not buy this mouse?"

      » Details Diamond Award : October 2012

"The CM Storm Recon continues Cooler Master's winning streak. It's an excellent mouse in every regard; build quality, comfort, customization, performance, and ease of use. It's one of few ambidextrous mice and it is very comfortable for both left-handed and right-handed users. This is a great choice for casual or serious gamers."
