"Cooler Master's HAF XB is a unique, flexible, and durable chassis able to satisfy a number of functions well. Its price is moderate, and we can't really find anything wrong with it. It simply works well in the roles it was designed to satisfy......In its element, the HAF XB steps up to earn Tom's Hardware's Smart Buy award for serving up notable value, a functional design, and Cooler Master's sprinkle of innovation as it tries something new."

"Best of all for me is the configuration options that are open for cooling the top level components. You can use larger air coolers, single or multiple all-in-one water coolers, or even custom cooling loops using multiple radiators. Further, the case can be modded to allow for use of even larger radiators such as 360mm (3x120mm) size radiators without much work needed. For routing, the custom water system can be split between levels with the pump and reservoir installed on the lower level without much hassle."

"The HAF XB is a mid-tower case as unconventional as it is. But even as “just” a mid-tower there is still plenty of room for all your gear. Besides being roomy, it’s lightweight and super easy to carry around. It’s not overly loud despite all the open space to the outside world and it has killer looks to boot. And let’s face it. The orientation of the motherboard that has it facing upwards combined with the top cutout in the case is simply cool to look at. And at $99, it’s quite a bargain. A Gadgetsteria favorite for sure."

"Swapping out components was easy and quick. Here is the stand out feature as a test bench for me and my particular situation. Right now I am limited in space so I cannot always have a test bench on my desk. The HAF XB allows me the ability to protect the components by installing the panels and putting the entire thing away which protects the components on the inside. Most other test benches do not have theat capability."

"Overall, Cooler Master included everything that really matters whether you need a tech station or a LAN party friendly system. The Cooler Master HAF XB has many enthusiast and modder possibilities waiting to exploited. This is why I can’t help but wonder what it would look like in white, or two tone black with NVIDIA green. Tired of the usual enclosures? Grab the Cooler Master HAF XB."

The cooling performance is on par for a mid-tower, there is plenty of space for cables, video cards, as well as CPU coolers… What else do you really need from a case?"

"The Cooler Master HAF XB to be honest is cheap as hell for a chassis of its quality. Sturdy, solid builds are hard to find in this price range without the loss of some feature or another. On a technical perspective, you get just the right amount of bays, wires, aesthetics, and room to make using the HAF XB very enjoyable, then you add in the fact that I can also run this without the three panels and use this as an open air test bench; I just love that part"

"The value: ah, the value. I admit I was surprised by the relatively low cost of this case. For what you're getting, I think $99.99 is a screaming deal; I have reviewed other cases at a similar price point that offer nowhere near this level of function and convenience. Cooler Master's HAF series has always been about a good price/performance ratio, but I think this one hits it out of the park.

If you've the desk space for it, and you like easy transport of and access to your full ATX system, this is the best case on the market for you now. "

"I will admit the squatty stature of the build might not be for everyone. It is a lot fatter than your typical case – easily two Corsair 650Ds next to each other, but it stands less than half the height as well. If you can afford the extra floor/desk space, then I highly recommend the HAF XB. Cost, appearance, and quality can't be beat at this price range. This is the ultimate LAN rig. Props to CM and the HAF XB."

"Currently, the enclosure market is filled with similar chassis which have very few unique distinguishing features so when a potentially innovative product comes along, we sit up and take notice. This time it is Cooler Master pushing the boundaries with a unique spin on the typical ATX case which literally turns everyday design convention on its head. Dubbed the HAF-XM, it is dubbed a "LAN Box" and uses a cube-like approach that puts nearly every installation element right at your fingertips. "

"What really impressed me the most about the HAF XB was its price. At Under $100 MSRP, this is a good case with a large list of features. Things like the front panel USB 3.0 ports costs money and drive up the costs normally. I expected a slightly higher price point because of that, but I think Cooler Master priced this in a way that should bring in a lot of interest to this unique case design."
