"If you are in the market for a new mid-tower enclosure for your next system build and excellent case cooling is a main point of interest, the Cooler Master HAF XM deserves a close look.  The HAF XM provides very good case cooling with the three bundled fans and offers lots of options for additional air cooling or liquid cooling.  The overall build quality is very good and the classic black look is always in style."

"So to sum it all up STOP READING THIS and go buy it right now! This case has completely rewritten the industry standard as well as the LPT standard. We give this the highest rating and as such it will replace the Trooper rating. So we give it the HAFXM rating. Keep up the great work Cooler Master!"

"Overall, this may be the best case I have ever seen or used to build a computer. While the colors might not be right for everyone, the design is pretty much flawless. My hat's off to the Cooler Master engineers and marketing staff for listening to what builders want and then building it. "

"Overall, the Cooler Master HAF XM is the best “not mid-tower” I have ever used. Being able to fit any size video card or CPU Cooler inside the case is just icing on what is already a freaking delicious cake. And with how cheap this case is compared to its’ best competitor, you may actually be able to afford a cake as well!

The design quality, implemented features, styling choices, they are all of the highest quality. In fact, Cooler Master may be careful, making a case this good may actually hurt the sales of their more expensive products."

"The Cooler Master HAF XM offers some really useful features like the hot swappable X-Dock trays, tooless hard drive trays, wire management, easy side panel access via an access handle, and of course the potential for decent system cooling as long as you’re willing to add your own side panel fan. While the PSU cover is a nice touch for hiding some wires, it’s not necessary and can help air flow if left out. With a well configured build, the HAF XM will really help cool hot system components and control system temperatures."

"After transplanting my current system to the Cooler HAF XM Mid Tower Case, I fell in love accomplishing a nice clean up. In comparison to the CMSTORM Trooper, it is much lighter but doesn't have a convenient handle to lug around, so, it's back to traditional back breaking. I really have to say, Cable Management is the most perfect and peaceful activity for the installation for the HAF XM but I really wish it was a Full Tower. As large as the capacity comes, there is plenty of space to upgrade to larger capacity drives and adding performance drives in the future."

"There are more fan and radiator combinations possible than one can count. Add to that the X-Dock hot swappable drive slots, all the HDD/SSD drive slots, the cable management abilities, the psu cover, tool-less drive bays and all over easy access to everything. And you have an awesome gaming / enthusiasts enclosure. And did I mention all the room inside the case? For a mid tower case I think one would be hard pressed to match it in the amount of room it has inside."

"The smaller version of the HAF X held its own very well. The HAF XM has enough great features to warrant the $129.99 price tag. The two X-Dock slots placed in the front panel given them the option to be hidden while in use, which is a good thing, because this will keep them from getting broken in some freak accident. The latch on the side panel is a nice addition and gives it an little different look to help make it stand out. With the addition of the two USB 3.0 connections that are internal, the HAF XM is ready to stay up-to-date with peripherals for a long time.

The wire management solution  installed is very good, especially with the PSU cover that helps hide wires from view, making the installation look even cleaner! This was a very cool idea implemented into the HAF XM by Cooler Master. The almost all tool-free installation helped make the installation quick and easy. In case you are an upgrade junky, this will help you get in and out of your case in no time at all. The dist filters are not the best, but good enough to keep a lot of the dust from infiltrating your system."

"Cooler Master has a great reputation for producing quality products at a wallet friendly price, so why ruin all that now? Why not make it better? This was obviously the driving factors behind the creation of the XM; no expense was spared unless you’re talking about the consumer. But at a price of only $130, the consumer really gets a bargain in this package and I would gladly be one of them. "

"As we mentioned before, once you get past the looks the HAF XM is a solid mid-tower for gaming, workstations and pretty much any other system that needs room, expandability and good airflow. During our build with the Medusa like UCP 1100 we were more than amazed at how quickly the HAF XM tamed the cables that we did not need and being able to tame that mess can be half the battle when it comes to keeping up airflow. The multiple pass-through ports in the backplane allowed us to quickly and easily run things along the back (and out of the way). This will give you the chance to build a very clean and unobstructed system into the HAF XM. On the downside, no one will be able to see how clean it is as there is no window (again for cost here). Overall Cooler Master has a good offering in the mid-$100 price point in the HAF XM. You are going to get items and options that you would be hard pressed to find in many cases that cost more. "

"The HAF XM’s interior is rife with cable routing options and it even comes with a unique power supply cable baffle which successfully covers the spider’s nest of wires typically located at the bottom of most cases. Cooler Master has also seen fit to include a pair of 200mm fans, plenty of potential locations for a water cooling setup, USB 3.0 compatibility, a neatly hidden 2.5” mount and support for E-ATX motherboards. "Overall, this tower is just about perfect for anyone who is in the market for a computer. With all of the expansion bays available, you can fill it up with as many hard drives as you will ever need.  As for organization of wiring this is TOP NOTCH. With the PSU cover that keeps all of your wires tightly coiled together and routes them into the side behind a wall, it keeps everything beautiful. Finally cooling is never an issue with all the available options for fan placement and sizes. This tower receives a 10/10 from me, especially with a price point of $129.99 there is no reason to not buy this. So head over to Cooler Master and order yours today!"

"At an MSRP of $129.99, the Cooler Master HAF XM is priced near the top of most Mid-Tower cases. That being said, it's really a Full Tower case in sheep's clothing based on the functionality. It has room for up to E-ATX motherboards, four GPUs, and liquid cooling solutions.  To top it all off, the case is extremely quiet. There is a lot of room for extra fans and tons of space for cable management throughout. Overall, while the price might be a little high, I have to say this case is worth it. It's a good deal."

"So is the HAF XM worthy of it's $129.99 price tag? Most definitely. Compared to the $199.99 HAF X from which it was sculpted, the XM has lost one 5.25" drive bay, some ductwork, and $70 off MSRP. What is has gained is support for up to nine SSDs, easier installation and access via a latched side panel, and a more manageable form factor. We will let you decide where your priorities lie, but for us this chassis is a valuable addition to Cooler Master's arsenal and a tantalizing option for those looking at the HAF series."

"In the end I’m just impressed with the HAF XM. It might just be worthy of a BluePanda OCC Gold award, which undoubtedly is only the second one I’ve given since I joined the staff of OCC. Trust me it says a lot as I tend to be rather picky and it is well worth a look when I tack on the golden label. A predisposed bias torwards the HAF 932 actually leaves me a little more critical on the looks and workings of the new XM. I’m impressed. I failed to find any real flaws with it and couldn’t find a reason to dislike it no matter how hard I tried. Like I said before, it truly shows up as an offspring of the HAF 932 and HAF X; it’s the midget child of the two and can satisfy the needs for hardware as well as fix the lack of space issues some of you have. This is one “child” you might want to let in your house to stay."

"The Cooler Master HAF XM could be the ideal case for gaming on a moderate budget. With ease the case will hold any of today’s gaming video cards as well as numerous drives and we can forget about support for eATX motherboards. These three things is what makes up most of the components of a gaming system.

When considering a case to build upon, it usually begins with looks as we don’t want to be looking at a case all day they we did not like. And the CM HAX XM is really not a bad looking case. Are there better looking towers out there? Sure there are. But we do like the fact that the HAF XM offers a more subtle look than the rest of the HAF line-up. This helps the XM to crossover to other realms and not just for building a gaming rig.

As far as cooling is concerned we thought out of the box the fans that are included was adequate. A rear 140mm and two more 200mm fans in the top and front allows a fair amount of air to enter and enough pushing tower to allow generated warm air to escape. Additional sizes ranging from 120mm to 200mm can be implemented into the case for those that want more cooling and air movement. Even water cooling can be added to the equation. With a little creativity dual and triple rads can be XM for even better CPU and GPU cooling."

"Cooler Master set out to make a mid-tower version of the HAF X with the HAF XM and I think in that they were very successful. What I find even more impressive is they have managed to fill the gap between the budget cases and the ultra-high end cases that we all drool after. The HAF XM can literally fit almost anything you throw at it, all the while having some of the easiest wire management we have ever seen because of the gargantuan amount of space behind the motherboard tray.  You even end up with built in hot swap bays, support for USB 3.0, and full dust filter coverage to keep everything clean inside. What is most impressive is the HAF XM’s price, considering its feature set I would have expected it to be higher, but with a MSRP of $129 it should still be in the budget of most builds. "
